World Summit AI

We sat down with Carlo Tortora Brayda, Co-Founder & Task Force Member, NAIC ISAO & Founder & Executive Chairman, Tortora Brayda Institute,  to talk about how he sees AI as a tool for climate action.

What's the future of AI?

AI for Good is my vision of the future of AI. I am forging forward with revolutionary technologies that will level the playing field and radically improve the economies of lesser developed countries.

What's the coolest application of AI you've seen so far?

As a Judge of the United Nations AI for Good Program, I get to see so many cool innovations that align to the UN Sustsainable Development Goals (SDGs).

AI adoption in business: Name three benefits, and three potential risks

The biggest risks are Privacy concerns, Bias, and, most of all, Cyberattacks, including model stealing, data poisoning, deep fakes, and pixel takedowns. The benefits: undoubtedly productivity, innovation and customer satisfaction.

What excites you the most about an AI-empowered world?

If we play this right, AI automation will revolutionize human society and generate incredible wealth, hopefully across the board. Because of its efficiencies, we may be able to engage in higher aspirational endeavors as a species.

What do you envision for the future of human-machine collaboration?

AI is central to human-machine collaboration. I see this field developing very rapidly, with increasingly powerful, noninvasive wearables. I believe that education has a big, increasing part to play in optimizing this field. In the longer term, Neuralink-type and genetic manipulation technology may really open the way for Cyborg and Synthetic human development..

Who do you admire most in the world of AI in terms of their work?

Reinhard Scholl, the recently retired creator of AI for Good, a former leader at ITU, the UN technology agency. What an incredible visionary.

If you could solve any global problem in the world with AI, what would it be and why?

I think that AI can be applied in Governments around the world to create a fairer democratic process and fairer international policies. It can create a platform for less impulsive, self-seeking, and exploitative international relations and, as such, be a pathway to conflict resolution.

What inspired you to participate in this AI summit as a speaker, and what message do you hope to convey to the audience?

This summit is a defining event in AI, and I am honored to participate as a Speaker. I will convey a positive message focusing on the societal structures required to deploy AI effectively for a more equitable world. So, I will not be talking so much about the technology as about the private-public partnerships required to elevate the technology to its position of maximum impact.
